On October 2015 OJSC “Belavia – Belarusian Airlines” launched in the test run mode on the web-site the function of passport recognition. Now when buying tickets online, it’s possible to take a photo or load an already existing photo of the last page of the passport and the site booking.belavia.by will try to recognize it and fill in necessary fields for passport data. “For now this function will be run in the test mode. The time will show, whether it will become permanent. We’ll see, how much will it make faster the process of buying a ticket, and whether it will be demanded by passengers”, - communicated Vice General Director of Marketing and Foreign Economic Activities of OJSC “Belavia – Belarusian Airlines” Igor Cherginets.
