Belavia and Delta have become partners.

Belavia Belarusian Airlines and Delta AirLines (USA) have entered into a bilateral Interline Agreement that will come into force on July 15, 2010. Delta has become the first American partner of Belavia’s that has signed an agreement on mutual recognition of traffic documents (interline). Interline allows to sell air traffic for the partner airlines’ flights, and in so doing provides an advantage for Belavia’s transit passengers going to America or other destination of the Delta route network who can now buy a single ticket for the whole route instead of two separate tickets. In addition, transit passengers will benefit from through carriage of luggage, and get their luggage in the place of final destination without interim registration. Delta passengers may use Belavia flights similarly.

As of today, the Interline Agreement between Belavia and Delta has been made only for mutual recognition of paper tickets, but soon sale of electronic tickets for the partners’ flights will be tested. Sale of Belavia and Delta’s electronic air tickets is scheduled to start at the end of July – beginning of August.

Belavia has entered into over 50 Interline Agreements with major world air carriers, such as KLM/Air France, Alitalia, CSA, Aeroflot, Lufthansa, LOT, Austrian, Transaero, Siberia, etc. There are working Interline Agreements on electronic tickets with over 20 airlines as well.
