Baggage on code-share flights

A code-share flight is a flight operated by several airlines that includes:

  • Operating carrier is the airline that actually operates the flight,
    And
  • Marketing carriers are airlines-partners that sell seats on a definite flight under their own code on their specific ticket blank.

When you purchase a ticket for a code-share flight, you must take into account following points: there may be special rules and regulations for carrying of hand luggage, baggage and providing additional services.

In such cases, the rules and regulations of the operating carrier apply to the transportation of cabin baggage.

Checked baggage included in the free baggage allowance

In case if the ticket was purchased on the website or at the sales offices of Belavia Airlines, as well as its agents or representatives (i.e. the ticket was issued on a Belavia ticket blank (B2), code – 628), then the baggage allowance of Belavia Airlines will apply along the whole route.

In case if the ticket was purchased on the website or at the sales offices of Nordwind Airlines, as well as its agents or representatives (i.e. the ticket was issued on a Nordwind Airlines ticket blank (N4), code – 216), then the baggage allowance of Nordwind Airlines will apply along the whole route.

Excess baggage

Transportation of excess baggage is carried out according to the rates and standards of the carrier accepting the excess baggage at check-in at the initial departure point.

Special categories of baggage

The carriage of special categories of baggage (e.g., sports equipment) is carried out in accordance with the rules and rates of the operating carrier. Please note that on code-share flights some categories of baggage may not be accepted for transportation.
