New Embraer-175 Fell into the Ranks of Belavia Fleet

On April 19, 2018, Embraer-175 from the aircraft plant (São José dos Campos, Brazil) landed at National Airport Minsk in new Belavia livery.

The aircraft arrived within the framework of the agreement signed between Belavia – Belarusian Airlines and Brazilian aerospace conglomerate Embraer at the 52nd Paris Air Show on June 20, 2017. Two Embraer-195 will also arrive to Minsk in May-June 2018 as part of this delivery.

All aircrafts are delivered directly from the Brazilian aircraft plant. Belavia has acquired the title to these aircrafts on account of loan funds provided by Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus and BNDES - Brazilian Development Bank.

The newly arrived Embraer-175 is designed for carriage of 76 passengers. The cabin will be in a dual class configuration: 12 seats in the business class section and 64 in economy class.
The present-day Embraers-175 cater to the Airlines needs for intensive passenger flow growth and, in future, they will almost completely replace small CRJ-200. The cabin design concept warrants maximum comfort for passengers, thanks to the 2+2 seat configuration in the economy class and 2+1 in the business class section. The Embraer-175 represents the business class type with rigid partition and increased space between seats. The new airliner will make its scheduled commercial flight as soon as April 24 upon completion of all customs and technical procedures.

‘Within more than 5-year period of using such aircraft type, the Belavia employees have acquired positive experience in operation of Embraer series aircrafts. Besides, we have become certain of the most favourable impressions on the part of passengers, that is why, we cannot imagine the Belavia fleet development without aircrafts manufactured by our partner Embraer Corporation’, said Anatoly Gusarov, General Director Belavia – Belarusian Airlines.
"It's very pleasing for us at Embraer to see another new aircraft arrive today to join Belavia's fleet. Belavia are great to work with, and Embraer is privileged to be a part of their success and continuing growth", said Martyn Holmes VP Europe, Russia, Central Asia and Leasing, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

It is planned to use the newly arrived aircraft almost on all scheduled flights of the Belarusian Airlines route network. So, for example, as soon as in a week Belavia starts directs flights to Rostov-on-Don and Kazan where this regional type aircraft will be used.
The E1 series aircrafts fully meet the Airlines goals of further extension of the route network and carriage cost reduction. Such aircraft type has high fuel efficiency. Belavia calculates that increase in the number of such type aircrafts will enable to promote the company strategy for systematic price reduction for air carriage.

‘New Embraers are of course decorated in cornflower-blue colours of the Airlines that are well-loved by Belarusian and foreign customers. Our passengers are easily recognized in airports of other countries by distinctive baggage tags and boarding passes with blue cornflowers’, shared Anatoly Gusarov, General Director Belavia – Belarusian Airlines.
The airliner that has been greeted today in Minsk overcame 12,000 kilometers from São José dos Campos, with over 16 flight hours, crossing over 4 climatic zones, 6 hour zones, utilizing 25 tons of fuel.

‘We really appreciate the assistance of the official partner to the event, official BMW and MINI dealer in Belarus Autoidea which helped us arrange the greeting of landing of the new Embraer-175 at National Airport Minsk presentably and in style, by accompanying the aircraft with BMWs through the water gates archway. Few are aware that initially BMW company was an aircraft engine manufacturer; that's exactly why such cooperation is particularly pleasing for us’, Anatoly Gusarov summarized.
