Belavia-Belarusian Airlines and AZAL have signed an interline agreement
In October 2018 Belavia-Belarusian Airlines and AZAL — Azerbaijan Airlines signed the bilateral interline agreement (code-sharing) on the flight Minsk- Baku since October 28, 2018.
According to this agreement Belavia-Belarusian Airlines will act as an operating carrier, and AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines will act as marketing partner on the route Minsk-Baku-Minsk. Thus, since October 28, 2018 the flights on this route will be carried out by Belarusian airline under its code В2 and under the code of Azerbaijan airline- J2.
With the transition to winter schedule Belavia-Belarusian Airlines increase flight frequency to Baku to 4 times a week. The flights on this route will be carried out with departures from Minsk at 11:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and arrivals at Baku the following day at 03:35 a.m. Flights from Baku will be carried out with departures at 04:35 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and arrivals at Minsk at 07:10 a.m.
“Belavia-Belarusian Airlines are our long-standing and reliable partners. Direct flights on the route Baku-Minsk have always been in demand by citizens and tourists of both countries. I am confident that the joint codeshare flights of AZAL and Belavia will form the basis for mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation”, - said the director of the passenger airline Azerbaijan Airlines Jamil Manizade.
The signed interline agreement on the flight Minsk-Baku-Minsk will enhance the attractiveness for the passengers of both airlines who transit through the airports of Minsk and Baku due to the increase in the number of connecting flights, the enhancement of marketing opportunities of the airlines for promoting their own products. Both airlines are planning the significant growth in transit passengers who will use the airports of the capitals of both states.

Due to the agreement passengers of both airlines will have more options and opportunities for travelling as well as be able to use more convenient connections and purchase a ticket for more attractive price. Whereas previously Belavia and AZAL had the opportunity to offer their passengers a flight between Minsk and Baku only twice a week, now both carriers will provide the opportunity to take a flight four times a week. Furthermore, the codeshare flight of AZAL and Belavia will strengthen the ties between Belarus and Azerbaijan”,- noted Director General of Belavia-Belarusian Airlines Anatoly Gusarov.
