Belavia acquires three Embraer E195-E2

On February 20, 2020 took place the solemn signing of a lease agreement on delivery of three new generation airliners Embraer E195-E2.

On the signing ceremony on behalf of Belavia participated CEO Gusarov A.N., on behalf of a lease AerCap Holdings N.V. (“AerCap”) participated Philip Scruggs, President & Chief Commercial Officer.

The delivery of three absolutely new airliners from the manufacturing plant is expected on December, 2020, March and April 2021.

“We are very pleased to announce the placement of three E2s with Belavia. We have a long history of working with our friends at Belavia, and we are excited to be a part of their fleet renewal plan,” said Philip Scruggs, President and Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap. “With the introduction of Embraer’s most advanced aircraft, Belavia will enjoy improved operating costs and versatility. We look forward to working with the Belavia and Embraer teams as these aircraft deliver.”

E195-E2 is designed for transportation of 125 passengers in two-grade configuration: 9 seats in a business class lounge and 116 seats in economy class. New generation airliners are planned to exploit on such routes as London, Barcelona, Astana, Munich, Paris, Sochi and Amsterdam.

“Belavia successfully updates the air fleet over several years. We got three Embraer-195 and one Embraer-175 in 2019, in spring 2020 we are expecting to get one more Embraer-175, and on December of the current year our fleet will be replenished with absolutely new Embraer E195-E2. Belavia passengers first of all admire Embraer-175 for their comfort. For the airline such fleet replenishment gives the possibility to improve the level of service and contribute to further reduction of airfire via efficiency of airliners of this type”, commented Anatoly Gusarov, CEO of JSC “Belavia”.

Fleet replenishment by airliners Embraer allows airline to increase the frequency of implementation of regularly scheduled flights to existing destinations and open new flights, which perform Minsk as a truly attractive transit hub.

The salon concept guarantees the maximum of comfort for passengers due to 2+2 seat configuration in economic class and 2+1 in business class. All Embraer-195 airliners have a new type of business class lounge with rigid partition, comfortable seats and enlarged distance between rows.
