Belavia has to reschedule flight operation to Vienna

The airline has to postpone the opening date of the regular flight Minsk-Vienna-Minsk until April 25, 2020 due to the refusal of the aviation authorities of the Republic of Austria to give permission to Belavia for regular flight operation on this route, despite the fact that Belavia-Belarusian Airlines has performed all the necessary accreditation procedures and obtained slots at Vienna airport.

In this regard, the airline has to cancel its flights on the route Minsk-Vienna-Minsk from March 29 to April 24, 2020.

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines regards these actions of the Austrian side as aimed at preventing Belavia from entering the Minsk-Vienna line, keeping the Austrian Airlines monopoly and maintaining a high level of direct fares on the specified route.

The opening of Belavia flights on this route in the absence of direct flights between Minsk and Vienna in such a difficult time for residents of the two countries would facilitate the movement of Belarusian and Austrian citizens, as well as maintain economic and cultural relations between the states.

In this situation, Belavia expects an early solution to this question by the aviation authorities of the two countries.

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines plans to fly to Schwechat International Airport daily with departure from Minsk at 8.50 (every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and at 14.25 (every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). The return flight to Minsk National Airport is planned at 10.45 (every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and at 16.10 (every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

The passengers, who purchased tickets for Belavia flights in this direction from March 29 to April 24, 2020, will be able to get their money back without deductions at the place of ticket payment or reschedule the flight date once until June 30, 2020.

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines regrets this situation and apologizes to its passengers.
