Embraer E195-E2: the aircraft of a new generation in the fleet of Belavia

On December 23 the fleet of Belavia-Belarusian Airlines was replenished with a new aircraft Embraer E195-E2. The lease agreement for the supply of three aircraft of this type was signed in February 2020 between Belavia-Belarusian Airlines and the leasing company AerCap Holdings N.V.‎ Two aircraft are expected to arrive early in the new year.

Embraer E195-E2 differs from the aircraft of the current generation by its efficiency. Enlarged wing and new engines allow reducing fuel consumption by 25.4% per passenger seat. The aircraft is also the quietest and eco-friendliest in its class: according to CAEP standards, nitrous oxide emissions were reduced by 35% and carbon dioxide emissions by 50%. The new fully enclosed landing gear design improves aerodynamics, reduces peak landing loads, and improves ground handling and ship alignment that allow reducing fuel consumption.

Belavia has become the eighth Airline in the world flying on the second-generation aircraft Embraer. The aircraft is designed to carry 125 passengers in a two-class layout: 9 seats in the business class and 116 in the economy class. Such configuration allows carrying 18 more passengers than on the board of the first generation aircraft.

“‎An important task for the airline is the renewal of the aircraft fleet. The Embraer E195-E2 delivery is an important step towards the modernization of the Belavia fleet, which allows improving the level of the service, and the economy of this type of the aircraft – to reduce the cost of air tickets. For 8 years of collaboration with Embraer we have received and successfully operate 12 aircraft from a Brazilian manufacturer, which are especially valued by our passengers for their comfort and safety. We hope, that the new generation aircraft will win their hearts‎”, – commented Anatoly Gisarov, the CEO of the Airline.

“We are delighted, that Belavia will receive the aircraft of a new generation with an economical engine GTF that will help to reduce the operation costs and to provide the best customer service”, said Rick Derlu, Chief Account and Senior Vice President of Pratt & Whitney.

“We are glad to welcome Belavia in the family of air carriers E2.  E195-E2 is ideal for airlines that plan to increase their traffic. The use of this type of aircraft on the same routes is the most advantageous among narrow-bodied aircraft,” – commented Cesar Pereira, vice-president of Embraer Commercial Aviation of Europe, Middle-East, and Africa. – “We will be glad to continue cooperation with Belavia to renew the Aircraft fleet”.

The new generation aircraft are planned to operate on such routes as London, Barcelona, Nur-Sultan, Munich, Paris, Sochi, and Amsterdam.
