The fleet renewal of Belavia: the second Embraer 195-E2

On March 13, the new Embraer 195-E2 landed at the Minsk National Airport. It became the second aircraft of this type in the fleet of Belavia Airlines. The aircraft differs from the other ones in its unusual anniversary livery: at present there is the number “25” on the tail, and the slogan of the Airlines in two languages (English and Russian) on the fuselage. This is the second aircraft of the latest type out of three ones, for the supply of which in February 2020 was signed the lease agreement between Belavia Belarusian Airlines and AerCap Holdings N.V., a leasing company.

The main distinctive characteristic of Embraer 195-E2 is its efficiency. The GTF engine, fully enclosed landing gear and an enlarged wing help significantly to reduce fuel consumption by 25,4% per passenger seat. Also, Embraer 195-E2 has reduced CAEP/ 8 nitrogen oxide emissions by 35% and carbon dioxide emissions by 50%/ This makes the aircraft the quietest and eco-friendliest in its class and makes it possible to reduce the cost of air tickets, increasing at the same time the level of service.

“The company Embraer is proud to be the permanent partner of Belavia. To our mind the supply of a new aircraft Embraer 195-E2 in an anniversary livery is the best way to celebrate 25th anniversary”, - noted Argian Meyer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation. – “I think that the operation of new, more economical and eco-friendlier E2 will provide Belavia with even greater success in the future”.

“We are glad to see the second Embraer 195-E2 in the fleet of Belavia. The arrival of the aircraft coincided with the important event in the life of the Airlines, which is the anniversary to which the unusual livery of the aircraft is dedicated. For us, the new Embraer 195-E2 is a significant milestone in the history. The aircraft will become a kind of symbol of the 25th anniversary of the Airlines. For all these years Belavia has been continuously working to improve service, increase comfort and introduce progressive ways to ensure safety of passengers. The fact that today we are receiving the second Embraer 195-E2 and are expecting the third one in the nearest future suggests that we are on the right way”, commented Igor Cherginets, the general director of the Airlines.

Belavia and the Brazil manufacturer of the Embraer aircraft have been forming business relationship for 8 years already. The Belarusian air carrier successfully operates 13 aircraft of this aero-manufacturing conglomerate. The new Embraer 195-E2 will become the fourteenth aircraft of Brazilian origin in the fleet of the Airlines.
