Belavia opened a new Russian route – to Ekaterinburg
On May 7, Belavia Belarussian Airlines began to perform regular flights to Ekaterinburg, which is often unofficially called as a capital of Ural. This is the eight regular route to Russia, which is currently performed by the Belarussian airline.
The flights to Ekaterinburg are planned once a week – on Fridays with departure from Minsk at 11.10 pm and with arrival at Koltsova International Airport at 04.10 am. The return flight to the capital of Belarus is on Saturdays with departure at 05.10 am and with arrival at Minsk National Airport at 06.25 am. The time for all airports is local. The one-way flight takes about three hours.
The minimum cost of a one-way ticket for the tariff “LIGHT” (without baggage) is 143 euro, and 233 euro for the round trip. According to tariff brand “Smart” the cost is 163 euro for one direction and 263 euro for a round trip. More information about the schedule and tariffs can be found on the official web-site belavia.by.
“The passenger traffic is gradually recovering despite the fact that the situation in our industry is still shaky. Belavia managed not only to survive in the challenging conditions, but also continued to offer passengers new opportunities. Today we are expanding the route network across Russia. Belavia has already flown to Ekaterinburg, but it was a long time ago: in the 1990s and 2010-2015. Today we are restarting this route so to say. Many people were waiting for the appearance of this route – someone for work issues, others for tourism purposes. We are glad to perform a flight today to Koltsovo International Airport, that is the beginning of a new regular air service between Ekaterinburg and Minsk”, - noted Igor Cherginets, the general director of JSC Belavia Belarusian Airlines.
The Airlines will be performing flights to Ekaterinburg on the aircraft Embraer 175. The aircraft of this type is designed for 76 passengers: 12 seats in business class and 64 seats in economy class.
“The Belavia Airline is a long-time partner of our airport and one of the most reliable air carrier in the CIS, therefore both us and our passengers are pleased with its return to Koltsovo. In the context of restrictions on flights abroad, the opening of a new route will help to increase a passenger flow and allow Ural residents to travel to Belarus. In our turn, we are also waiting for guests who will fly to the capital of Ural – I am sure that the travelers will mark not only the beauty of Ekaterinburg, but also the comfort of our airport”, - emphasized Alexei Piskunov, the executive director of Public Joint-Stock company Koltsovo Airport.
Koltsovo International Airport is situated 16 kilometers from the center of Ekaterinburg in the south-eastward side. It serves not only the citizens of the city, but also a Sverdlovsk region. Ekaterinburg is one of the largest industrial, transport and logistic cities of Russia.
