Belavia has tested and prepared Boeing 737-8 for passengers’ flights

In April of this year, the fleet of Belavia was replenished with the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The aircraft of the new type arguably is one of the main newsmakers in the aviation industry, among others due to the careful control of safety level by the company-manufacturer and Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA). Recently, an American company recommended to make an inspection of one of the standby electrical generating system of Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The accent was about one insignificant technical intricacy, which was not connected with the software. The work could have been performed by specialists of Belavia, but the company-manufacturer headed the team of its own specialists to its customers. In Belarus, they have completed this modification this week.

Yesterday, Belavia has made its own inspection and test flights with crews at Minsk National Airport. Igor Cherginets, the general director of the airline, as well as the leadership of the Aviation Department, aviation inspection and Boeing representatives attended this inspection.

“The following trainings are not obligatory, bit for us it is one more step to boost security. We do this for our own confidence and for the confidence of our passengers that the aircraft is reliable. Boeing 737-8 is known to have flown to us, but it was standing on the ground for some time, since at the request of the Aviation Authorities of the USA (FAA) it was necessary to make some modifications. When they were made and FAA was convinced of this, the appropriate entry was made. Yesterday, we have made our own training flights with our aviation crew. Everything went well. Today we can start performing the first commercial flights on this aircraft. The 737-8 aircraft model can be considered as one of the safest aircraft in history, thanks to the work done by the company Boeing”, said Igor Cherginets, the general director of Belavia.

The last training confirmed the readiness of the Boeing 737-8, which is the only one in fleet of Belavia, to carry out passenger traffic. Today the aircraft will perform its first flights – along one of the most popular routes: to Warsaw and Kiev (Boryspil Airport).
